The Public Supports Providing More Help for Caregiving and Other Services
According to a public opinion poll conducted by Harris Interactive for the Partnership for Solutions with a nationally representative sample of 1,663 Americans, the public overwhelmingly supports policies to aid caregivers. They support measures such as a tax credit for family caregivers, and a credit or deduction for the purchase of long-term care insurance. They also support government-funded long-term care insurance, and a prescription drug benefit in Medicare.
